Report: Robert Kraft won’t overstep Bill Belichick to keep Tom Brady with Patriots

Robert Kraft, Tom Brady, Patriots

The New England Patriots remain determined to bring back Tom Brady for the 2020 season. But if talks don’t go their way and Brady starts leaning towards another NFL team, Patriots owner Robert Kraft reportedly won’t intervene to try and stop him.

Despite Kraft’s strong desire to have Brady finish his career as a Patriot, he will not overstep head coach Bill Belichick regarding the final decision on Brady, per NBC Sports Boston’s Tom Curran.

Kraft gave Belichick the full authority to handle negotiations with Brady and the iconic duo is already talking. However, Brady wants to explore his options in free agency and eight teams are reportedly in the mix to land the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

Belichick wants to bring Brady back to New England to finish his career, but he also has looked into multiple veteran quarterbacks as fallback options if a deal can’t be reached.

While many have expected Kraft to at some point follow his heart and take over negotiations, the Patriots owner reportedly remains determined to let the process unfold. If it comes down to it, Kraft is seemingly prepared to lose Brady and keep Belichick.
