The Houston Texans have been put on blast recently by many for trading away DeAndre Hopkins for a relative bag of peanuts. Apparently, the franchise is getting the same type of treatment in league circles, too.
Writing in his weekly 10-Point Stance column for Bleacher Report, Mike Freeman shared a quote from an NFC executive that is about as damning as they come.
Freeman wrote:
“One NFC East front office executive put it this way: ‘The Texans are a rudderless ship.’ Trading DeAndre Hopkins will go down as one of the worst personnel moves in the recent history of the NFL.”
Things are so bad these days that Deshaun Watson, one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL, has expressed his dismay on Twitter for all to see.
Speaking of Watson, there’s some scuttlebutt that he may end up departing at some point soon.
There’s no worse indictment of an organization than to have lost a franchise quarterback who is still yet to enter the prime of his career.
The Texans have been a rudderless ship for years. Now, they are operating without a general manager, and it shows. This organization needs to be rebuilt from the ground up if it has any hope of turning things around. Period.
