To say that the Philadelphia Eagles must find upgrades at cornerback this offseason would be a major understatement.

Philadelphia’s defense yielded 27 passing touchdowns compared to just 11 interceptions last season. The back end of its defense was a major problem.

According to NFL insider Adam Caplan, the Eagles will look to fix this issue by signing Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl cornerback Byron Jones once free agency opens in just over two weeks.

”They’re gonna be the first team up when they’re allowed to talk to the agents,” Caplan said about Jones on his latest podcast. “The term is, they’ll be all-in, whatever you want to call it.”

This would certainly qualify as a home run for Philadelphia. Selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the 27-year-old Jones is among the best pure cover guys in the league.

He’s expected to move on from the Cowboys in free agency and could demand a near market setting contract. Philly is currently about $46 million under the cap. It has the room to add Jones without making other moves.
