Report: Buccaneers ‘definitely interested’ in Tom Brady

Tom Brady,

The Tennessee Titans aren’t interested in Tom Brady, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers “definitely” are, according to Jenna Laine of ESPN.

Responding to a fan’s question on Twitter, Laine wrote that “The Bucs are definitely interested in Brady,” noting it’s not known if Brady reciprocates that interest.

If Brady were interested, it would be a very interesting landing spot for him. The Buccaneers have one of the NFL’s top receiving corps, with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin being the centerpieces. Tight ends O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate may be just as appealing for a quarterback in Brady who has traditionally feasted when he’s had top tight ends.

That being said, it’s surprising that a Bruce Arians-led team would be interested in an aging Brady, whose arm was never the strongest. Arians has traditionally coveted big-armed quarterbacks who love to take shots downfield.

Brady himself has said nobody knows where he’ll land. If he did end up with the Bucs, it would make for one of the most interesting offseason storylines, to be sure.
