The Tampa Bay Vipers will not have starting quarterback Aaron Murray in the lineup Saturday against the Seattle Dragons, as he’s been ruled out of the game with a foot injury.

The XFL’s official website shared the news of Murray’s injury designation on Friday morning.

Murray had a brutal start last Sunday when the Vipers lost to the New York Guardians, completing just 16-of-34 passes (47%) for 231 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.

With Murray being ruled out, the Vipers will likely give Quinton Flowers a lot more reps in Saturday’s game. He was very good at moving the chains as a dual-threat passer last Sunday, and he completed a sensational 37-yard pass to Daniel Williams.

The other quarterback on Tampa Bay’s roster is Taylor Cornelius, a former Oklahoma State star. Head coach Marc Trestman said both Flowers and Cornelius will play Saturday.
