Tua Tagovailoa has ‘passed every test with bells and whistles,’ per his surgeon

Tua Tagovailoa NFL Draft

Tua Tagovailoa and the rest of the NFL world will be in Indianapolis next week for the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine, and the buzz surrounding this prospect is palpable.

Recently, NFL insiders shared the results of Tagovailoa’s most recent health checkup following season-ending hip surgery last November. The news was overwhelmingly positive, and many now believe he’s going to be taken very early in the first round.

Adding to this positive outlook, Tagovailoa’s surgeon, Norman Waldrop, shared his thoughts on the quarterback’s remarkable recovery during an interview with the Miami Herald. In short, he thinks the “injury prone” label is not fair, and believes there will be no setbacks in his recovery.

“While I certainly get everyone’s worries from the medical side, I have zero concerns because of his willingness to work,” Waldrop said, per the Miami Herald. “He’s passed every test with bells and whistles.”

The next step for Tagovailoa will be to getting cleared for football activities, which his agent recently said will happen in March. Assuming there are no hiccups in his recovery, Tagovailoa will participate in Alabama’s pro day and work out for teams.
