Report: Progress made in Mookie Betts blockbuster trade

Mookie Betts trade, Red Sox,

The three-team deal sending former AL MVP Mookie Betts and ace starter David Price from the Boston Red Sox to the Los Angeles Dodgers has hit a major snag over the past few days.

Specifically, Boston is demanding another top-flight prospect from the Minnesota Twins after checking out the medicals on pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol.

The Twins have pushed back against that, threatening to derail one of the biggest trades in recent MLB history.

There’s now good news on this front. According to La Velle E. Neal III of the Star-Tribune, progress is being made to hash out the final details of the deal. Neal notes that Minnesota has agreed to add another prospect to the mix. The report indicates that it is not a top-10 prospect that Boston had previously been demanding.

Heading into Spring Training, this is an absolutely huge issue for both MLB and the three teams involved. It would also lead to another trade sending Joc Pederson and Ross Stripling from the Dodgers to the Los Angeles Angels.

Hopefully, something comes to a culmination on this front here soon.
