Report: Giants and Colts interested in Jadeveon Clowney

Jadeveon Clowney, contract

Seattle Seahawks Pro Bowl defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has noted that he’d like to return to the team after an injury-filled first year in the Pacific Northwest.

An impending free agent, Clowney also wants big-time money after recording just three sacks in 2019.

Whether Seattle will pony up said cash remains to be seen. However, Clowney is open to moving on from the Seahawks once free agency starts on March 18.

According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, that could potentially include a move to either the Indianapolis Colts or New York Giants.

Despite his struggles with injury last season, Clowney will likely be the most-coveted edge rusher in free agency.

The No. 1 overall pick of the Houston Texans back in 2014, he earned three consecutive Pro Bowl appearance to close out his career with the team before being traded to Seattle ahead of the 2019 season.

Clowney is likely looking at $18-plus million annually on the open market. It’s in this that both the Giants and Colts make sense. New York is currently $73.3 million under the cap while the Colts have north of $86 million in room.
