Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is progressing well in his rehab from season-ending elbow surgery and will visit his doctor on Feb. 21.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, during that visit Roethlisberger hopes he will get clearance to begin throwing utilizing “tennis balls and other light objects.”

When Roethlisberger first suffered the injury last season, many wondered if he might consider retirement. After all, he talked openly about retiring just a couple years back. However, since then he’s made it clear that coming back and playing in 2020 is a top priority.

Should Roethlisberger make a full recovery, then the Steelers could be among the better teams in what’s fast becoming a highly competitive AFC. And the best part? He can finally shave his beard soon.
