The Houston Rockets’ road date with the Boston Celtics was the top prime-time game around the NBA on Saturday night.

That did not stop star Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant from making a statement against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Morant scored 27 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out a game-high 14 assists in a 105-88 home win over Los Angeles.

As has been the case all season, Morant was absolutely electric.

Despite Zion Williamson’s recent play, Morant is the odds-on favorite to come away with Rookie of the Year.

His performance Saturday night did nothing to dispel that notion, and it had the NBA world talking.
