Mike Trout on Astros players not being penalized: ‘It’s sad to see’

MLB players are speaking out at nearly every turn as it relates to the Houston Astros’ cheating scandal.

We’ve seen Chicago Cubs star Yu Darvish go after Astros players after it was deemed they stole signs during their championship season back in 2017.

We’ve also seen Astros players push back against criticism while failing to really apologize for their misdeeds.

Perhaps the face of Major League Baseball, three-time AL MVP Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels is speaking out on the scandal for the first time. He’s not holding back.

“To cheat like that and not get anything, it’s sad to see,” Trout said from the Angels’ Spring training complex.

This is a view that’s shared by many around the MLB world. While the Astros received stiff punishment from the league and fired both their manager and general manager, players were immune from penalty.

To many, that’s not a great precedent to set. Trout apparently agrees.
