Kyrie Irving ruled out with right knee sprain

Kyrie Irving injury

Just when everything started going right for Kyrie Irving, he was dealt another tough blow on Saturday. After getting his leg caught underneath Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, Irving limped to the locker room.

Irving spent several moments down on the floor being attended to by team trainers. After going to the locker room, the team quickly ruled him out with a right knee sprain.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Irving will undergo an MRI on Sunday. He was coming off an incredible outing on Friday night against the Chicago Bulls and entered Saturday having scored 119 points in his last three contests.

If Irving misses time, Spencer Dinwiddie will likely step up as Brooklyn’s top scorer. Irving had just recently returned to the lineup after missing 25 games with a shoulder injury.
