Dez Bryant ‘for damn sure’ will return to NFL in 2020

Dez Bryant isn’t ready to hang up the cleats for good, telling TMZ Sports on Sunday night that he is “for damn sure” going to play in 2020.

Not surprisingly, he hopes to re-join the Dallas Cowboys next season: “[The Cowboys] are my first choice,” Bryant said. “If the opportunity is there, I’mma take it!”

The NFL free agent receiver hasn’t played since tearing his Achilles during the first practice he took part in as a member of the New Orleans Saints in 2018. He last registered a stat during the 2017 season as a member of Dallas, catching 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns.

Though, Bryant has clearly been staying in shape given the social media content he’s shared.

If Bryant really is healthy enough to play, then it wouldn’t be a shock to see him get another shot in the NFL. He’s not the same explosive playmaker who dominated the league in the first half of last decade, but he’s still capable of making big plays in the red zone and providing a consistent big body in the middle of the field.

And if the NFL doesn’t come calling, Bryant could always consider the XFL.
