Lane Kiffin congratulates Tua Tagovailoa, wishes him luck with the Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa NFL Draft Dolphins

New Mississippi head football coach Lane Kiffin has himself a sense of humor.

That came out in droves when Kiffin congratulated Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for his decision to turn pro on Monday in a tweet that also wished the former Heisman finalist the best of luck with the Miami Dolphins.

This is all sorts of great right here. Miami’s decision to tank for Tua hit a bit of a road block when the Crimson Tide quarterback suffered a serious hip injury this past season.

Despite this, the Dolphins have been targeting Tua for well over a calendar year. Selecting fifth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, there’s a darn good chance that the powers to be in South Beach look to Tua to save the long-downtrodden organization.

Alabama’s offensive coordinator from 2014-16, Kiffin could be on to something here. While he never coached Tagovailoa with the Crimson Tide, Kiffin did play a big role in recruiting him to Tuscaloosa.
