NFL power rankings: Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers legend Bill Cowher offered some high praise for the job Mike Tomlin has done this season with the team he guided for 15 years.

Cowher said that “this has been the best coaching job Mike has done in the time he’s been here,” per Steelers Depot. He also elaborated a bit, highlighting how Tomlin has adapted to the circumstances.

The Steelers are somehow still in the playoff chase with two weeks remaining. In the process, Tomlin went from being on the hot seat (allegedly) to being a legitimate Coach of the Year candidate.

This, despite having to roll with 2018 third-round pick Mason Rudolph and 2019 undrafted rookie Devlin Hodges under center this season due to the season-ending elbow injury sustained by Ben Roethlisberger.

Additionally, the Steelers started over from scratch at two key offensive positions recently, thanks to the departures of Le’eon Bell and Antonio Brown.

With that in mind, it really is incredible how Tomlin transformed the Steelers into a defensive powerhouse to help make up for an offense that has been remarkably limited and turnover prone this year.
