Report: NFL considering ‘all options’ for potential Patriots’ punishment

As the NFL’s investigation continues into the New England Patriots videotaping of the Cincinnati Bengals’ sideline, the league is reportedly considering all options if it decides to punish the organization.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the league wrapped up its interviews for the investigation and the matter of dispute has now come down to New England’s motive. The Bengals are reportedly furious at New England’s actions and asking for the team to be punished with the league consider a hefty fine as one of its options.

Details of New England’s actions broke quickly after the news of the league’s investigation first came to light.

The Patriots issued an apology on Monday, but it said that no one in the team’s football operations department had any knowledge of it. Instead, the video footage was for the “Do Your Job” series on the website.

While the NFL hasn’t provided a timetable for when the investigation will conclude and an announcement will be made, this report suggests we could hear a decision this week.
