West Virginia QB Austin Kendall to start against former Oklahoma team

Just months after entering the transfer portal and leaving Oklahoma, West Virginia Mountaineers quarterback Austin Kendall will get a shot at revenge on Saturday against the Sooners.

West Virginia head coach Neal Brown announced that Kendall, who left the game against Iowa State with a reported shoulder injury, is lined up to start for West Virginia on Saturday.

It will be a shot at redemption for Kendall, who spent three years at Oklahoma waiting for his opportunity to start in Lincoln Riley’s offense. When the Sooners went after Jalen Hurts during the offseason, Kendall entered the transfer portal and found an opportunity in West Virginia.

The redshirt junior has played fairly well this season for the Mountaineers. Kendall has thrown for 1,247 yards with nine passing touchdowns and seven interceptions. West Virginia will enter the game as massive underdogs, but Kendall’s shot at redemption will be a storyline to follow.
