The Houston Astros couldn’t muster the big hit in Game 5 and it cost them. The return home to Minute Maid Park seems to have woken up Yuli Gurriel’s bat.

After José Altuve and Alex Bregman reached in the first inning, Gurriel stepped to the plate and delivered a first-pitch blast that sent Houston’s fans into a craze of celebration.

Gurriel entered Game 6 amid a 1-for-20 cold streak at the plate. While he made some loud contact, he could seemingly never get enough of the ball to get the big hit.

It seems like that’s now changing. If Gurriel can tap into the power that led him to hit 31 home runs this season, it might be enough to push the Astros to the World Series.
