WATCH: Yuli Gurriel launches go-ahead HR in Game 7 of World Series

The Houston Astros needed an early spark in Game 7 of the World Series and first baseman Yuli Gurriel provided it with a go-ahead blast in the second inning.

Gurriel stepped to the plate against Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer and saw the perfect pitch. When Scherzer’s slider hung up just enough over the zone, Gurriel drilled it into the Crawford Boxes for a 1-0 lead in Game 7.

Gurriel has proven to be streaky throughout the postseason with a few scattered home runs. He’s been making phenomenal plays defensively at first base throughout the World Series and might now be heating up with the bat at the perfect moment.
