Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Jalen Hurts has dazzled the college football world this season with remarkable throws. Unfortunately for the Sooners, he made the worst mistake of 2019 for the Red River Showdown.

After driving down the field, fueled by an insane run by Hurts, the Heisman Trophy hopeful made a disastrous decision. Hurts rolled to his right and faced immediate pressure from the Texas Longhorns. Instead of throwing it away or taking the sack, Hurts threw off his back foot into the end zone to gift Texas an easy interception.

It’s Hurts’ second red-zone turnover of the first half after he coughed the football up following a big run.

While he’s certainly flashed plenty of outstanding ability, Hurts’ horrendous mistakes have now wiped out two potential scoring drives for the Sooners. Now it will just become a question to see if the Longhorns’ offense can take advantage.
