The New York Yankees are perhaps the most storied franchise in professional sports. Now, second baseman Gleyber Torres is doing his part to become the Yankees’ next franchise star.

Torres already came through big for his team in the fourth inning with a two-run double to take a 1-0 lead. He returned to the plate in the sixth inning and took it to the next level with a towering home run.

Torres showed plenty of All-Star ability during the regular season with 38 home runs, 90 RBI and a .872 OPS. Now he’s pushing his game to the next tier with MVP-caliber play during the postseason.

Baseball fans are witnessing the start of MLB’s next brightest star. Torres will be in New York for years to come and moments like this are just the beginning.
