Saturday night after Alabama dispatched Tennessee by the score of 35-13, Nick Saban told ESPN that Tua Tagovailoa will likely miss a week or two with a high-ankle sprain.

“I think Tua will probably be out for a week, but I don’t know that for a fact,” Saban said. “He’s got a high-ankle sprain, so he’ll probably be out for a week or two.”

Tagovailoa was injured in the second quarter. He had his right ankle rolled up underneath a defender who was dragging him down, and it twisted underneath his body.

The star quarterback limped off the field, went into the medical tent, then into the locker room. After a while, he was seen leaving the stadium in an ambulance for the hospital, though he did later return.

Before exiting Saturday’s game, Tagovailoa completed 11-of-12 passes for 155 yards with no touchdowns, and one brutal interception in the end zone. On the season, the Heisman hopeful has passed for 2,166 yards with 27 touchdowns and two interceptions.

If the timeline holds up, then Tagovailoa should be good to go for Alabama’s game against LSU in three weeks.
