MLB world reacts to Brewers teeing off on Max Scherzer

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer took the mound for the NL wild-card game with everyone expecting him to dominate. Instead, the Milwaukee Brewers went to work against one of the game’s best pitchers.

After allowing a walk to open the game, Scherzer could only turn and watch after Brewers catcher Yasmani Grandal drilled a two-run shot over the fence in right field for the early lead.

While the three-time Cy Young recipient recovered to end the first inning, things unraveled again when he returned to the mound in the second.

As Thames watched his blast soar into the seats and celebrated Milwaukee’s 3-0 lead, the baseball world couldn’t hold back its shock at the unexpected start and Scherzer’s struggles.
