The 2019 World Series provided baseball fans with tons of entertainment in a thrilling seven-game series that came down to the final innings. Not only did the Washington Nationals come out celebrating, but MLB and FOX have as well.

FOX announced that its ratings across all platforms for viewers watching the 2019 postseason rose 12 percent this year. Furthermore, more than 27 million tuned in to watch the Nationals win their first championship in thrilling fashion.

It’s great news for the league after Sunday Night Football blew out Game 5 for ratings. The announcement is a step in the right direction for MLB and commissioner Rob Manfred in their attempts to grow the game at a time when the NBA and NFL’s popularity is skyrocketing.
