Dolphins announce Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain starting QB

The tank is on in South Beach. Just don’t tell that to first-year Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores.

Fresh off yet another brutal showing in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, Flores noted that veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick will remain the team’s starting quarterback. Flores’ reasoning? He gives the 0-7 Dolphins the best chance to win.

Wait. The Dolphins actually want to win? Who would have thought? Here’s a team that traded star youngsters Laremy Tunsil and Minkah Fitzpatrick. We all know tanking is the name of the game in Miami right now.

The Dolphins have been outscored 238-77 in seven games this season. Statistically, that puts them on pace to be the worst team in modern NFL history.

For his part, Fitzpatrick has put up five touchdowns compared to seven interceptions while fumbling the ball four times in six games (four starts) this season.
