Mother Nature hasn’t been cooperative for Saturday’s big game between Iowa and Iowa State, but that hasn’t stopped fans from going wild.

During a prolonged delay due to weather delay in Ames, stadium security vacated the field due to hail. As soon as they did, fans rushed the field in large quantities.

That’s going to be a mess, because the amount of fans on the field far outnumbered the security personnel on site. Furthermore, it’s likely that the fans on the field chewed up the turf, which could adversely affect the game itself.

Thankfully, it was finally over, and afterward a sign of hope appeared on the horizon.
