Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is one of the best players in the NFL, which means Carolina tries to put it in his hands as often as possible. It paid off on Sunday with a direct snap to him that turned into his first touchdown of the season.

The Panthers kept quarterback Cam Newton on the field, but the shotgun snap went to McCaffrey. He faked the handoff to Newton, then burst through a wide gap at the line of scrimmage and sprinted into the end zone for the score.

The score is McCaffrey’s first of the season and the 10th rushing touchdown in his career. McCaffrey is the focal point of Carolina’s offense for a reason and finding unique ways to feed him only opens up more big-play opportunities.
