Kansas City Chiefs star receiver Tyreek Hill was hospitalized Sunday after suffering a collarbone injury on a hard hit from Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday that the Chiefs will likely not have Hill for a few weeks. However, the injury is rare, and according to Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star, there is “no defined timetable” for his recovery at this time.

He also reports that Hill “will likely avoid” the injured reserve list.

Hill caught one pass for 16 yards Sunday against Jacksonville before leaving due to his injury.

The Chiefs just signed the star receiver to a three-year, $54 million contract extension in the week ahead of the regular-season opener. The fact that he is not likely to end up on injured reserve is a positive sign that Hill can make a swift return from this injury.
