Fans boo Bears’ offense off field after ugly first half

On a night when Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky had a chance to prove himself on a national stage, he instead walked off the field at halftime to a chorus of boos from the friendly crowd at Soldier Field.

Head coach Matt Nagy’s offense turned in a miserable first half that left Chicago’s entire fanbase disappointed. Trubisky needed 16 attempts to reach 73 passing yards and had two interceptions dropped, while the running game averaged just 3.1 yards per carry.

Trubisky got the ball back with less than a minute left before halftime to try and provide some momentum. Instead, Chicago’s offense couldn’t gain a single yard and it walked off the field to a crowd intent on making them feel the disappointment.

While the Bears have publicly praised Trubisky’s growth this offseason, the third-year quarterback’s performance through two quarters looked more like he regressed.

If the offensive line doesn’t improve and Nagy can’t fix his quarterback, the Bears will be experiencing more booing from the crowd this season.
