Kenny Stills rips Jay-Z, and his partnership with the NFL

Kenny Stills

Kenny Stills is becoming an outspoken critic of Jay-Z, whose company, Roc Nation, recently partnered with the NFL to improve social justice efforts.

Recently, Jay-Z said, “I think we’ve moved past kneeling and I think it’s time to go into actionable items,” which drew the ire of Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid.

Speaking to reporters about this on Monday, Stills ripped Jay-Z over the statement, saying, “it didn’t seem very informed.”

Afterward, he elaborated on why he’s not in favor of Jay-Z partnering with the NFL, saying “it’s not something I agree with or respect” while saying he also wants to give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Of course, an underlying issue here is that many believe Jay-Z has partnered with the NFL only so that he can pursue another goal — becoming an NFL owner. On that note, it’s recently been reported that he will be reaching that goal very soon with a “significant ownership interest” in an unnamed team.

Back to Stills, this isn’t the first high-profile figure to face his outspoken criticism. The Miami Dolphins receiver called out his own team’s owner, Stephen Ross, recently for his financial support of President Donald Trump.

Since then, he’s revealed that death threats have come his way. One thing is certain, nothing is going to keep Stills from speaking out against issues he disagrees with.
