Former Pro Bowl K says Carli Lloyd could make NFL roster

After helping lead the U.S Women’s National Team to its second consecutive World Cup, star forward Carli Lloyd could have a career in the NFL ahead of her according to a former Pro Bowl kicker.

Martin Gramatica, who drilled 155 field goals in his career and was one of the league’s best kickers in 2000, saw Lloyd’s incredible kicking display at the Philadelphia Eagles camp and believes the NFL could be in her future.

In an interview with TMZ on Wednesday, Gramatica said he’s seen footage of Lloyd’s powerful leg during visits with the Eagles and Houston Texans and she has shown the power to scare some NFL kickers.

“55, that’s impressive,” Gramatica said, via TMZ. “I think a lot of the NFL guys better be ready. Better watch their jobs. I know there’s some openings, so be careful out there!”

One NFL team in particular stands out with the Chicago Bears rotating through eight kickers at one point during the offseason. Lloyd’s shown throughout her soccer career that she can handle clutch situations and the spotlight, which would be ideal for the Bears given their championship aspirations.

If Lloyd wanted to put soccer on hold and potentially pursue an NFL career, Gramatica said he’d be happy to help her.
