Devin Singletary

The Buffalo Bills continue to give rookie running back Devin Singletary a ton of run with their first-string offense heading into the first preseason game.

According to The Athletic, Singletary has earned a “steady amount of opportunities” with the first-team offense.

Veteran LeSean McCoy still believes he’s “the guy,” noting “I feel like that” and “That’s what I’ve been told.”

Yet the fact that Singletary continues to get so much work with the first-string offense speaks volumes.

McCoy has been bandied about as a player who could be cut at the end of training camp. The Bills can save more than $6.4 million against the cap by releasing him. He’s coming off the worst year of his career and has a ton of tread on his tires at the age of 31.

If Singletary can continue to sparkle, then it shouldn’t be surprising if he ends up bumping McCoy out of the starting lineup, or off the team completely.
