Mets reportedly land Marcus Stroman in trade with Blue Jays

The New York Mets have been touted as one of the biggest sellers ahead of the MLB trade deadline, yet on Sunday they reportedly agreed to trade with the Toronto Blue Jays for Marcus Stroman.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network broke the news, noting the trade is pending an exchange of medical information:

While it does seem strange that New York is buying here, it’s not something that was completely out of left field. This move could potentially preempt another trade as the contenders vie for the chance to land Noah Syndergaard.

Stroman has been solid for Toronto in 2019, posting an 2.96 ERA with 99 strikeouts in 124.2 innings of work.
