Cris Carter: Kawhi Leonard hasn’t made decision; Clippers, Lakers, Raptors all still in it

Cris Carter, who has had his pulse on the Kawhi Leonard free agency situation since Sunday, definitively shot down all the rumors that the star has made any sort of decision.

A LOT of premature reports out there. Kawhi has NOT made his decision yet & all 3 teams are still in it. Yes, Lakers and Clippers are still in play and I’m 💯 certain of this.

Carter, who is a former NFL star turned FS1 commentator, used to share an agent with Leonard. He also made it clear on Sunday that Leonard would be taking his time with a decision — something that has certainly been proved true since then.

Contrary to other reports, Kawhi Leonard has NOT met with or spoken with Magic Johnson yet.

He will meet with both LA teams early this week & then Toronto will get last word. Given today’s events, Knicks are an extremely long shot.

Leonard caused an uproar on social media when it was revealed he had left Los Angeles on a flight to Toronto Wednesday to meet with the Raptors brass. Around the same time, ESPN personality Stephen A Smith cut an interview short while doing his radio show to say “reliable sources” told him Leonard had picked the Lakers.

Based on Carter’s knowledge, it appears the Lakers, Raptors, and Los Angeles Clippers all still have a shot at landing this year’s prized free agent.

Where will he end up? Perhaps nobody knows right now.
