The Los Angeles Dodgers might have one of the best starting rotations in baseball, but the World Series favorites are now focusing on fortifying their bullpen.

According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, Los Angeles is interested in New York Mets All-Star closer Edwin Diaz.

It was noted earlier on Wednesday that Diaz could be had for the right price. After being the most-dominant closer in baseball as a member of the Seattle Mariners last season, Diaz has struggled big time in the Big Apple after being traded this past winter.

He’s pitched to a 1-6 record with a 4.81 ERA and bloated 1.42 WHIP. This came on the heels of a 1.96/0.79 split last season.

Still only 25 years old, the expectation is that a change of scenery could do Diaz good. The Dodgers’ current closer, Kenley Jansen, has saved 24 games with a 3.63 ERA this season.
