Baker Mayfield shades Giants fans in a big way discussing OBJ

Baker Mayfield has developed quite a reputation early in his career for making statements that some people just aren’t going to like. He did it once more in an interview with ESPN’s Mina Kimes.

Discussing his experience with Cleveland Browns fans, and how they’ll receive Odell Beckham Jr., Mayfield took a not-so-subtle shot at New York Giants fans: “He’s here to play in front of fans who actually care, who will actually show up to every game and pack the stadium and love him for who he is.”

Reading between the lines, Mayfield is saying Giants fans don’t actually care, and that they didn’t love Beckham for who he is.

Whether that is true or not, it hints that Beckham never felt embraced by Giants fans. It also gives us a strong indication that OBJ has a massive chip on his shoulder, which is good news for the Browns, and bad news for the rest of the league.

Here’s Kimes’ full interview with Mayfield, which is must-see TV.
