Crazy stat highlights just how potent Yankees’ bats have been

The New York Yankees are red hot at the plate.

They went into the top of the seventh inning against the Boston Red Sox down by two runs Sunday in the London Series. Then, they unloaded a barrage of offense that culminated with nine runs and 11-4 lead.

It’s the second-straight game in which the Boston bullpen has imploded.

Now, to be fair, the Red Sox have struggled to maintain leads all season long. Their bullpen has given up 17 blown saves following Sunday’s debacle, which ranks second-worst in MLB behind only the pathetic New York Mets right now.

But we can’t just look at this through that lens.

With the nine-run explosion against Boston on Sunday, the Yankees have now scored at least six runs in a single inning seven times in the past 11 days.

Folks, that’s absurd.

The Yankees went into Sunday’s game with the fifth-ranked home-run-hitting offense in MLB, and they had the third-most RBI in the league.

They’ve done most of their damage throughout the season without the services of two of the game’s most preeminent sluggers, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, who is once more on the Injured List.

One can only imagine just how dangerous the Yankees lineup will be if Judge gets going and Stanton returns to full health later this season.
