Sixers re-sign star F Tobias Harris to $180 million deal, per report

The Philadelphia 76ers might have lost J.J. Redick during the early stages of free agency, but the team was able to retain one of its core pieces.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Philadelphia has re-signed veteran forward Tobias Harris to a five-year, $180 million contract.

The expectation was that Harris would receive a max contract. This deal comes in a little below that, potentially helping Philadelphia as it navigates through the remainder of free agency.

Harris, 26, averaged 18.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 47 percent from the field with Philadelphia after being acquired mid-season from the Los Angeles Clippers.

No matter what happens with Jimmy Butler in free agency, Philly will now have a core three of Harris, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.
