Royals’ 3B Hunter Dozier activated off injured list

While the Kansas City Royals are in the midst of a woeful season, 2019 has provided a bright spot with breakout stars. Now they’ll be getting back one of their best hitters with the return of Hunter Dozier.

The Royals activated Dozier off the 10-day injured list on Friday after he missed two weeks with a chest injury that he suffered earlier in the month.

Dozier is in the midst of a breakout season and is already on the verge of setting career-best marks in home runs, RBI, OPS and doubles. In 52 games this season, the 27-year-old has a .314/.398/..589 slash line with 11 home runs, 33 RBI and a .987 OPS.

He’ll likely return to the middle of Kansas City’s lineup and provide a steady source of run production. Dozier won’t be eligible for arbitration until 2021 and is under contract control through 2023.
