Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer could have a broken nose after a ball hit him in the face during batting practice Tuesday.

Jesse Dougherty of the Washington Post notes Scherzer is undergoing tests to find out what damage was done, and that it is unclear at this time whether he will miss a start Wednesday.

One of the top pitchers in MLB, Scherzer has accumulated 99.1 innings of work so far this season, earning a 5-5 record, 2.81 ERA, 1.08 WHIP with 136 strikeouts.
