Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari put his foot down on Tuesday with a couple of well-aimed tweets that seemed to take aim at Jay Bilas and Duke head coach, Mike Krzyzewski.

It started when it appeared Calipari tweeted an indirect response to Bilas, who downplayed the impact college coaches have on producing NBA stars.

Here’s what Bilas wrote:

A week later, Calipari responded:

You could brush this off as non-confrontational, to be sure. However, there is no way to sugar-coat the second part of Calipari’s message, which seems to be a direct shot at Coach K and the Duke program.

“We don’t promote two guys and push everyone else to the curb.”

If that doesn’t describe the recent Duke teams, then I’m not sure what does. Certainly, everyone who responded to Calipari on Twitter knew it was about Duke, Zion Wiliamson, and RJ Barrett.

Though, many pointed out the score of last year’s Kentucky/Duke game.
