DeAndre Jordan lands four-year, $40M deal with Nets, per report

The Brooklyn Nets entered Sunday with confidence they could land Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan and on Sunday night they got the final piece by agreeing to a four-year contract with Jordan.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Jordan will receive $40 million over the course of his four-year deal.

Jordan was viewed as a key piece for Brooklyn to bring in Irving and Durant given the friendship between the players. The friendship also reportedly played a role in the structuring of the contracts, allowing Jordan to make even more money.

Not only does Jordan receive even more money, but he’ll also likely slide into the starting lineup over center Jarrett Allen.

While Jordan’s defense has fallen off dramatically in recent years, he still shows a strong willingness to get rebounds. He averaged 13.1 rebounds per game during the 2018-’19 season across 69 games between the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks.
