The last star free agent is no longer on the market. Starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel is reportedly heading to the Atlanta Braves.
David O’Brien of The Athletic reported that the two sides agreed to terms.
The move makes sense. The Braves were among the favorites to sign Keuchel. It’s not hard to see why, either.
Atlanta starters have been mediocre in 2019. If we eliminate the starts of Mike Soroka, they’ve been downright awful.
While Keuchel hasn’t replicated his Cy Young winning season of 2015, he figures to provide depth. In 2018, he posted a 3.74 ERA and a 1.314 WHIP.
