Bucks trade Tony Snell, first-round pick to the Pistons

The Milwaukee Bucks are freeing up much needed payroll to retain the core group that led them to the NBA’s best record last season.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Milwaukee is sending veteran guard Tony Snell and the 30th pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft to the Detroit Pistons for Jon Leuer.

This move saves the Bucks about $24 million in cap room over the next two seasons.

Milwaukee has to think about retaining the likes of Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez and Malcolm Brogdon, among others, in free agency.

For Detroit, this means the team will now have two first-round picks in Thursday’s draft.

It’s a win-win for both sides.
