Kevin Durant out for remainder of Western Conference Semifinals, per report

There’s good news and bad news here. Kevin Durant suffered a mild strain of his right calf, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. That’s the good. Now here’s the bad news: Per Wojnarowski, Durant is going to be re-evaluated next week.

Translation: He will be unavailable for the remainder of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets. Game 6 is on Friday night. If the series goes to Game 7, that will take place on Sunday.

When Durant originally limped off the court Wednesday night in Game 5, many thought he had suffered an Achilles injury. Obviously that would have taken him out for the foreseeable future. At least now there is hope he could make a return in the postseason.

It’s worth pointing out that he missed multiple playoff games last year with a calf strain, too. So, it appears that will be the minimum as he recovers from this latest injury.

It’s a shame, too. Before his injury, Durant had combined with James Harden to set an NBA postseason record. Now the Warriors will have to advance without their top offensive weapon.
