Kemba Walker earns some serious cash for All-NBA Team honors

Will the Hornets trade Kemba Walker?

Charlotte Hornets star guard Kemba Walker might be among the most underrated players in the NBA. In no way does this mean it will show in his bank account.

By virtue of being named to the All-NBA Third Team on Thursday, Walker now qualifies for a super-max contract from the Hornets.

This could very well be a financial windfall for Walker. By making the team, he can net $221.3 million over five seasons if the three-time All-Star re-signs with Charlotte. The most any other team can offer Walker in free agency is $140.6 million over four seasons.

These figures make it more likely that Walker will remain in Charlotte after putting up three consecutive stellar seasons.

Walker averaged 25.6 points on 36% shooting from distance last season.
