Aaron Boone gives sketchy answer about health of Giancarlo Stanton

New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton has been sidelined for most of the season. His status remains a mystery, apparently even to his own manager.

Aaron Boone tried to give an update on Stanton’s healthy on Tuesday. While he did note that Stanton is making progress, there’s no real time table on his return. In fact, beyond Saying that Stanton’s shoulder was “just not quite right” (per Bryan Hoch, MLB.com), Boone couldn’t really even explain what the injury was.

That seems like good news. We may not have an ETA for his return yet. But if Stanton is taking at-bats, it does mean that there’s at least light at the end of the tunnel.

We can only hope that the doctors working on Stanton have a better grasp on what the injury actually is than Boone. Otherwise, treating the problem would present a rather sizable challenge.

The Yankees can definitely use Stanton back. The team has managed to stay strong this season, but is still dealing with big injuries to other key players.
