Cowboys have yet to offer Ezekiel Elliott extension, per report

Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys

Prior to an incident in Las Vegas this past weekend, things seemed to be slowing down for Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott off the field.

The much maligned Pro Bowler was more focused on a potential record-breaking contract with Dallas. It seemed to be something the Cowboys were open to.

Whether the above-mentioned incident has played a role in negotiations remains to be seen. But according to Jane Slater of NFL Media, Dallas has yet to offer Elliott an extension.

It had previously been reported that Elliott might be last in line of the big three to get an extension.

Dallas offered quarterback Dak Prescott an extension recently. But he came back to the team with another offer. Meanwhile, Cooper is entering his contract year after being acquired mid-season from the Oakland Raiders.

Having already picked up the 2020 option on Elliott’s rookie deal, the Cowboys have some time here. They might now decide to hold off beyond next season to make sure Elliott keep it clean off the field and continues to perform like an elite-level back on Sundays.
