Top prospect impacted by tornado on NFL Draft day

Thursday is supposed to be the best day in the lives of NFL Draft prospects. It’s what they have worked their tails off for the past several years. It’s what some of their families have sacrificed to help them get to this point.

Unfortunately for Louisiana Tech prospect and potential first-round pick, Jaylon Ferguson, this has all taken a back seat to a tragedy back home.

A tornado hit Ruston, Louisiana, overnight and killed two people. It’s the town that Ferguson’s former school is located.

According to this note, Ferguson remains in Ruston helping search and rescue efforts. He’s also apparently looking for missing loved ones.

This is deeply concerning. Obviously, our thoughts go out to everyone impacted by the tragedy. That includes Ferguson and his family.

Hopefully, the 2018 leading sack-getter in the NCAA can soon turn his focus to the draft itself. As noted above, this is supposed to be the greatest day of his life.
