We must give New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman kudos for his elaborate effort trying to fill the tight end position left vacated by Rob Gronkowski.

Check out this doctored-up tweet Edelman created. It shows Duke’s Zion Williamson being selected and welcomed by the Patriots in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft.

While this was a brilliant effort by Edelman, Williamson has declared for the NBA Draft. We must also mention that if Edelman was to get his wish, he would have to wait two years for Williamson to switch sports.

But, we cannot blame Edelman for looking out after his team. The Patriots will soon experience a severe void when it comes to life without the talented and spirited Gronk lighting up the team.

In the meantime, Austin Seferian-Jenkins is currently expected to be the top tight end for New England. All the while, Williamson is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick when the NBA Draft kicks off on June 20.
